A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a mistake. The negative aspect of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of junk emails, but this issue can be solved by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you’ve got a shared web hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all feature for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a lot of features, but it is astonishingly simple to work with, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires just a mouse click. All the email addresses that you have will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you will simply need to click the "Catch-all" button for the concrete email address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and takes yet another click on the very same button.
